What did become of the Alpha Squad that entered the Core? Here's my reasoning for why the knights look like this:
(The Alpha Squad is a special bunch, so the intentions here is that they wear armor that we can identify, but is actually a different line of armor and such. I'm just borrowing the designs from what we have)

-Grantz is the guardian of the squad, so he's in a Plate set, wielding the Khorovod look-a-like with a shield that Spiral Wardens carry around with them.
-Rulen is the technician, and is able to disassemble contructs, so he wields a Heavy Deconstructor (in a way that no one can tell) with the Com Unit to contact the Spiral HQ.
-Parma is the scout/recon, so she wears the scale set because the set is usually for females. She holds the Antigua because she isn't adept in fighting and requires speed to scout areas. She is coloured green because phrases, like "Greenhorn" means 'new and inexperienced', and she is the youngest member of the squad.
-Euclid is the squad leader, so he wears a helmet similar to the Shogun Helmet, with the Azure Guardian Armor, Aegis, and Leviathan. Since he was the fastest person to rise up to the ranks of Vanguard, he just uses the good ol' Azure equipment, except for the helmet.

-In one of the recon modules, Rulen was recorded on getting caught in the shadows of the Unknown Passage, so he appears injured in the picture. Grantz is in a defending position because he just pulled Rulen out of the shadows and is fending them off. Parma, being the youngest female member, is scared out of her wits and attempts to shoot the shadows with her gun. Euclid, being the strongest of the group, is just ready to fight.

This picture took Crayola Wax Crayons, and a sharp object, one day to plan out, and another day to colour and scratch off the design.

I really like your designs especially the different armors and colors to both distinguish them from one another and to show their specialization. One note to make is i disagree with your thoughts on Parma. While she may be the youngest and ''most inexperienced'' of Alpha squad she can definitely hold her own in a fight. If you read the recon modules and other story bits they describe her as a very skilled scout. other than that I love your work and can't wait to see more ^.^

Reminds me a bit too much of Castle Crashers because most art of them is in this kind of pose with those colours. Good job though I like the red guy a lot.

I forgot what Castle Crashers were, so after searching it online, I can see the resemblance... especially with the four knights with the same colours. T'is a mere stroke of coincidence.

Ah well if you've never seen them then fair enough for using your own design in a way xD Still as I said, it is a very appealing design :D
